Low‑Level Powered Access (Low Level Lift)

When working at modest heights, like servicing lighting, HVAC, or performing signage work, restrictions can make traditional lifts impractical. That’s where a low-level access lift is perfect for the job. These compact machines are lightweight, quiet, and designed with non‑marking tyres, making them ideal for confined or sensitive environments where floor protection matters.

Our low-level access lifts give you a stable, enclosed platform with guardrails and enough space to carry your tools and materials. That makes your work less physically demanding and far safer than climbing up and down a ladder. As injuries from falls account for a significant portion of workplace accidents, low level access lifts help eliminate much of that risk and reduce the cost and lost time associated with fall‑related incidents.

Unlike scaffold towers, which must be assembled, dismantled, moved, and reassembled, our low-level lifts are compact and easy to manoeuvre. And because of their low floor loading and lighter overall weight there’s less wear on sensitive surfaces.

Benefits

  • Excellent manoeuvrability lets you position the unit precisely, even in tight spaces
  • Lightweight build protects delicate surfaces, and the compact form lets you easily move through standard doorways
  • Powered by electric drive, these lifts operate quietly, which is perfect for indoor or noise-sensitive environments
  • Non‑marking tyres ensure floors stay pristine
  • Low noise levels let you work without disruption

These make our low-level access lifts ideal for environments like offices, retail, hospitals, or schools, where preserving finishes and controlling noise is important.

Safety Features

Every hire includes built‑in safety systems to keep you safe while using the equipment:

  • Tilt sensor with audible alarm which alerts you if the machine becomes unstable.
  • Auto‑brake system that locks the lift when stationary.
  • Emergency lowering system to safely descend in case of power loss.
  • Pothole protection prevents movement over unstable surfaces.
  • Load sensor that cuts off if the platform is overloaded.
  • Slip‑resistant deck helps prevent slips.
  • Emergency stop buttons on both the platform and at ground level.
  • Forklift pockets for easy loading and unloading.
  • Tie‑down attachment points for safe transport.

When You Hire

With every hire, you’ll receive:

  • A certificate of Thorough Examination (LOLER), verifying that your lift is safe to use.
  • An Operator’s Instruction Manual providing full guidance.

We’ll also conduct a Handover Familiarisation, covering:

  • Basic controls and operation of the lift
  • Pre‑operational safety checks
  • Safe setup and dismantling procedures
  • Assessment of site conditions and hazards

Mark One ensures your hire experience is seamless. We deliver equipment that’s clean, well‑maintained, and reliable. Our team is always ready to help you choose the right machine for the job or even provide training through our dedicated training division for IPAF, PASMA, or IOSH qualifications.

Low Level - FAQs

What is a low level lift?

It’s a compact, mobile scissor‑type platform designed for safe, stable access up to around 6 meters, perfect for indoor maintenance, fit‑outs, or general site work.

How does a low level scissor lift compare to a ladder?

You get a secure platform with guardrails, can bring tools to height with you, and work more comfortably using both hands—far safer and more productive.

Can these lifts be used on sensitive surfaces?

They’re designed with low floor loading and lighter weight to avoid damage to delicate finishes and reduce leakage risks.

Are low level access lifts easy to move?

Our low-level access lifts are compact, often fitting through doorways or elevators, and can be wheeled between work areas rapidly.

Do these lifts reduce downtime?

Our lifts have a quick set‑up time, are easily mobile, and are ready almost from the start to help you complete tasks faster and with fewer trips to ground level.

Is training or certification required to use them?

No official training is required and these are easier to learn than larger aerial lifts, but proper training always ensures safety and efficiency. Mark One Training can advise or organise access training if you need it.

Will Mark One help me learn how to use the lift safely?

You’ll get a full handover, operation guide, and all necessary paperwork, including LOLER certification.
